Remy hair is the highest grade of real 100% human hair that can be  purchased in hair extensions, instant weaves or wigs. Human hair produces the best,  longest lasting wigs and extensions. Considered to be the best in human hair because the cuticles are kept intact.

Maintaining the hair cuticles and aligning them in a unidirectional fashion for weaving to create a  wig or extension creates a hair piece that is completely natural in appearance.

Remy hair is typically divided into six quality categories based on processing  and length when grading. There are three categories each of virgin and non virgin  hair.

Virgin Remy hair is considered the best it  wou.ld not have been chemically treated in anyway. No coloring, perms, or any other  processing treatments. The hair is 100% natural.

Non virgin one has been  through some chemical processing on its way to becoming Hair Extensions. The  most common processing involves changing the color of the hair.

The three distinctions in each of the above categories are based on hair  length per weft. Single drawn Remy hair is made up of hairs of all different  lengths as it grows naturally on the head. The cuticles are intact and these  pieces look very natural. Double drawn hair is sorted so that all the hairs in a  weft are within one or two inches in length. The final grade is double drawn and  sorted so that all of the strands are of the exact same length. This is the most  expensive grade of hair because of the care that is required and the time it  takes to sort the hair so meticulously.

Remy hair is 100% natural human hair. It is quite simply the best hair quality that you can buy because of its natural look and feel. The main quality characteristic of Remy hair is that all the hair shafts are cuticle aligned. Remy hair is sourced from all over the world including Europe (Russia), Asia (Malaysia, China) but a large quantity is sourced from India.

Cuticle aligned hair?

Cuticle aligned hair is hair that is laying in the same direction. This is important because single hair shafts have a texture called a cuticle which lies in one direction when it grows: a downward direction. If one hair shaft is lying in the direction that it grows (is cuticle correct) and another is lying in the opposite direction then this creates friction between the hair shafts and they will have a tendency to matt and tangle.

In addition the shaft that is upside down will reflect light in a different way to the cuticle correct shaft. In summary, Remy hair extensions and Remy hair weaves are shafts of hair which are all cuticle correct thus ensuring less matting, tangling and the most natural shine and sheen.
